Being a vegetarian, was not something I liked, I loved meat, especially chicken and turkey. I could not go a day without have one of them. I decided to be vegetarian, after reading the article on factory farming, it was so horrible, the pain, suffering and agony which those animal pass through to reach our plates at dinner. I was unaware of the pain and suffering which these animals had to endure before they are killed. These animals are kept in cages or stalls which are hardly larger than the animals themselves, denying them freedom, sunlight, and using automatic system to convey their food and remove their waste products. These animals need love, care, and support and should be allowed to feel the sun on the back but the case is different in factory farm, they are confined.
The cow are kept in cages not big enough for movement, due to this they are continually standing which result in lameness. The female cows are in continuous cycle of pregnancy, birth and milk production and when they are not able to give birth again they are sent off to the slaughter house in respective if they are sick or not, that is why the reported case of mad cow disease was common because farm don’t want to lose money.
Pigs are put into cages, two feet wide without sunlight and they have to stand in their own waste product before they are being cleaned. due to the small size of the cage, the pig hardly move around which causes them to be obese and have leg disorder. The female pigs are made to gave birth continuously, that is the give birth to twenty piglet a year and once the piglet are three to six weeks old they are taken from their mother and the female pig is being impregnated to gave birth to more piglet. the young piglets have their tail cut of to prevent tail biting, their teeth cut off and the male piglet are then castrated without any pain relieve drugs.
Chicken are the animals with the most in humane treatment, they are stacked in huge ware house, confined to eight to ten in a cage without enough room to spread their wings. And they are forced to produce more egg through forced molting and are denied sunlight. Chicken are kept in semi dark room to prevent beaking on one another or have they beak cut off with hot blade without any pain killer.
These animals feel pain just like you and I, we need to come together to join the fight for animals rights they need freedom and should be treated with love. I would not say, I am the type that have pet at home but I have feeling for these animals, and also believes that everyone need love and so do these animals. They feel pain just like you and I, so we need to join forces to fight the inhumane treatment being experienced by animals in the hands of the factory farmers. We need the traditional farming where the animals are free to gaze the earth and have the sunlight on their back. So I, urge you and me to join the PETA organization in their unyielding effort to expose the horrors being faced by the animals till today. Let’s join the cause for animal’s rights. Show them love, they need it too.
Till next time.
